Hola! I’m Valeria, founder of La Escuelita Spanish Immersion Program.

I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where Spanish is my native language. When I was just five years old, my mom enrolled me in English classes. To be honest… I hated them.

The teachers filled the board with handwriting I couldn’t understand. There were heavy textbooks with hardly any pictures, endless homework, and very little fun. As I got older, learning English became even more frustrating. I often wondered, Why am I studying English if everyone around me speaks Spanish?

But something changed.

After high school, I decided to continue studying American English, and before I knew it, I had fallen in love with languages. I became an English teacher and later discovered the fascinating world of Study Methodology—understanding how people learn, not just what they learn. That completely changed the way I saw education.

Years later, life brought me to Quakertown, Pennsylvania, where I’ve spent more than 20 wonderful years building a life I love. My husband and I have raised two amazing children, and our family has been made even happier by the company of our beloved Boston Terriers, who have always had a special place in our hearts.

Throughout my career, I’ve taught Spanish in community programs, including North Penn Community Education, Pennridge, Souderton, private classes, and children’s programs. I’ve also worked as a professional Spanish interpreter in the medical field and workers’ compensation, helping people communicate when it matters most.

Every experience has reinforced one belief:

Learning a language should never feel the way it did when I was a child.

That’s why I created La Escuelita—a place where children learn Spanish through play, music, stories, movement, games, creativity, and real-life conversations. Here, kids don’t memorize endless vocabulary lists or spend hours doing worksheets. They laugh, explore, build confidence, and naturally begin speaking Spanish in a welcoming environment.
